Ashley Pettway, MS, LPC
About Me!
I’m Ashley (she/her), and I often work with people who look capable on the outside but feel stretched thin underneath. That includes professionals, helpers, first-generation graduates and entrepreneurs, and individuals navigating cultural or identity-based stress. Whether we’re addressing burnout, trauma, or survival patterns, the goal is meaningful change that actually feels livable.
Who do I work with?
In individual therapy, I work with professionals, helpers, and high-capacity adults who are feeling the weight of burnout, chronic stress, or long-standing survival patterns. Many of the people I support are navigating complex trauma, major life transitions, boundary challenges, and/or the pressure to keep performing at a high level even when they’re exhausted.
I also intentionally support first-generation graduates, first-generation professionals, and individuals from BIPOC and queer communities who are carrying both personal and systemic stress. Together, we explore how your lived experiences (including identity, culture, family expectations, and professional environments) shape the way you move through the world.
Much of our work focuses on building clarity, strengthening boundaries, processing what you’ve been holding, and creating a life that feels sustainable, not just successful on paper.
My Therapeutic Approach
As a Brainspotting-informed clinician, I believe you are the expert of your own life. My role isn’t to override that, but to just help you access what’s already there. You set the pace and direction. I bring structure, perspective, and practical tools, but you bring the lived knowledge of your own life.
Sometimes that means gently digging beneath the surface to uncover patterns or experiences that haven’t had space to be processed. Sometimes it means strengthening skills and boundaries. My job isn’t to “fix” you; it’s to support you in reconnecting with the steadiness and clarity that are already within you.
Beyond the Therapy Room
Beyond the therapy room, I’m a Georgia native and a cat mom. When I’m not working, I’m usually reading something thoughtful (or fun), scrapbooking, outside when the weather cooperates, or exploring a new restaurant. I love to travel and experience new places (especially through food)!
Balance matters to me. I believe in building a life that’s ambitious but sustainable, and I try to practice what I encourage in session.
